The Arabian horse is the soul of our heritage. To protect it is to protect the memory of who we are — and to share it, is to honour the future.
Founded in 1992 to revive the heritage of the Arabian horse in Qatar, Al Shaqab has grown into a world-class facility — breeding, educating and competing at the highest level — while welcoming the world to witness an ancient art lived as a daily practice.

1992
His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani founds Al Shaqab to revive the Arabian horse heritage in Qatar.
2004
Al Shaqab becomes a member of Qatar Foundation — anchoring its mission within Education City.
2010
World-class show jumping and breed shows take centre stage in Doha.
2014
A complete riding curriculum is launched — from children's pony rides to adult Grand Prix preparation.
